Around the Hammersee to the forester’s house Siehdichum

If you want to do a shorter but no less impressive hiking tour through the Schlaubetal Nature Park, you should try the one-hour hike around Lake Hammersee: You lace up your hiking boots at the forester’s lodge Siehdichum, to whose car park numerous signposts will conveniently guide you.

Shortly after the start you will come across the forester’s cemetery and the Siehdichum memorial stone opposite. Here it is worth investing a few minutes and reading the data on the tombstones. With the picturesque Hammersee always in view, you start the almost 4-kilometer-long circular tour and go on an easy-to-walk forest path along the bank. Keep your eyes on the water and take a break on one of the benches, because you might see a kingfisher, great crested grebe or otter.

Soon you will cross the bridge, which leads over a damp forest area between Hammersee and large Treppelsee. Here you can make a photo stop and pause for a moment. Always along Lake Hammersee, which is popular with fishing fans, it then continues through colorful deciduous forests back towards the starting point. Deeply relaxed, but perhaps with a slight feeling of hunger in your stomach, you should definitely stop off at the Forsthaus Siehdichum and enjoy the cozy atmosphere on the terrace.
